Great spot! We saw this place on tv so we had to visit. Cozy and inviting. Food is delicious, nice portions. The gnocchi...heavenly...wow. The appetizer sampler was a fantastic variety.

Monte's is an old school red sauce (gravy if from Brooklyn or South Philly) style restaurant. They serve up mostly classic Italian American dishes in authentic fashion. Everything we had was very good to outstanding! We started off with roasted pepper bruschetta that was sublime! Just like my grandma's! We had the house salad which again was an excellent, crispy old school Italian American version with oil and vinegar dressing. For entrees we had Rigatoni Bolognese and it was very good. Pasta was perfectly al dente. The sauce itself was very good but could've been more generous and a bit richer. A minor quibble. The Veal Parm though was outstanding and the star of the show! It was among the best versions I've ever had whether from a restaurant or made by a relative. The Veal was thin and tender and perfectly coated. The sauce was delicious and could tell was old school prepared low and slow. For dessert we had Tiramisu which was an excellent version. Service was fantastic. Our server was attentive and charming. The atmosphere was typical old style Italian eatery. Prices were reasonable especially for this section of Manhattan. This is a must visit for those cravings of old school Italian American food.

Absolutely super. We had Minestrone Soup/ Boned - in Veal and Connoli. The soup was a step back in time to when Soup was to be consumed and enjoyed, and reasonably priced. Next, the boned -in- veal was amazing and easily surpassed the North Beach S.F restaurant and the "Old town Pasadena establishment that we were familiar Lastly , Cannoli that we have not had since 1975 taste any better. and the Staff SALUTE!

Amazing cheese ravioli with a great old-fashioned marinara sauce. Nothing too special, but has a homey feeling and charm to it. Came with complimentary bread (nice crunch!) and olive oil. Service was quick and the servers were welcoming and put a smile on my face. Crowded ambiance of Caffe Reggio, loved the wall of pictures.
